Accessible health information: NHS England begin new initiative
NHS England is currently developing a standard which will be used by all NHS health and social care professionals and services. The standard will set out how NHS services should record and store your preferred format choices and accessible information needs. The standard will also instruct NHS services on how to provide accessible information to patients including what "accessible" means.
The project is at a very early stage and RNIB are represented on the advisory group for the project. The RNIB will also be helping NHS England engage with blind and partially sighted people over the coming months in a number of ways.
