Derby County Football Club is offering supporters the unique opportunity to bid for the match shirts worn by the players in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton in an exclusive online auction.
All monies raised by the auction will go to Rams designated charity, Sight Support Derbyshire.
The 13th October was World Sight Day and to tie in with the event volunteers from Sight Support Derbyshire held a collection prior to Saturday’s game at Pride Park and the Rams also agreed to auction off the match shirts to raise vital funds.
The closing date for bids is at 5pm on Friday the 21st October 2011 and each player will sign the back of their individual shirt.
The minimum bid for each shirt is £50.
All fans have to do is send their bid, along with their choice of players shirt, their name and contact number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Robin Toal, Fundraising Manager at Sight Support Derbyshire says. “The support Derby County are giving us is tremendous. They are making a real difference to local blind and visually impaired people. They played a birthday message for my mum on Saturday – I paid £10 and they are giving that money straight to Sight Support Derbyshire as well”.
Derby’s matchday squad for the game was Fielding, Anderson, O’Brien, Shackell, Roberts, Hendrick, Bryson, B Davies, Ward, S Davies, Robinson, Legzdins, Maguire, Doyle, Cywka, Kilbane.
Shirts are also available for Brayford, Barker, Tyson, Pearson, Bailey, Buxton, Riggott, Croft and Ball.
Winners will be contacted by the Club early next week to arrange payment and distribution of the shirts once the deadline has passed.
