Children and Young People

Sight Support Derbyshire provides specialised services for children and young people living in Derbyshire with a visual impairment aged between 0-18. We provide an opportunity for all to have fun, make friends and to try something new.
 
Helping Hands - aims to support parents or carers of pre-school children. With our weekly stay and play support groups, currently based in Derby and Swadlincote.

Play at Home - this scheme provides 1:1 play sessions for babies & toddlers in the home setting, by trained staff that also provides support to parents/carers.

After school clubs - we run a range of groups across Derby and Derbyshire.

Social Activities - Our trained volunteers can support children and young people to access clubs and activities of their choice.

Mentoring Services - providing children and young people the opportunity to meet older visually impaired people and learn from their experiences.

1:1 Swimming - We work with your family and your local swimming pool to set-up swimming lessons, and provide financial support.

Music Project - We help with the cost of musical instrument hire and tuition from the age of 7-18 years.

Holiday Activity Sessions - A wide range of activities are available across the county to access during the school holidays. Trips out, workshops, parties and sporting activities are just some of the things we do.
