Headbalancer to strike again

John Evans, record holder for the last 20 years is planning to break a new world record by balancing eggs on his head!!! John has previously raised money for local charities by balancing things on his head including a car!

John is choosing to celebrate his 65th birthday by holding a Family Fun Day on the 31st March. The event will be held at Bettys Farm in Willington. John is planning to break a new record by balancing 1800 fresh eggs on his head.

Emma from Bettys Farm says ‘We raised a lot of money last year for Air Ambulance and John has provided us with an eggcellent way of raising money with what we do best as Bettys is a commercial Free Range Egg farm housing 24,000 chickens. Our Family Days allow us to open to the public and show people what we do’

The Family Fun Day will include tours around the farm, a chance to get up close and feed the animals, craft stalls and farmers market from local producers as well as a Bouncy Castle, face painter, a raffle and tombola.

All eggs will be sponsored with proceeds going to Sight Support Derbyshire and Air Ambulance.

John says ‘I am very happy to have the opportunity to have such an eggcellent venue as Bettys Farm with so much going on and with plenty of parking just a few miles from Derby. We are expecting lots of people to attend and support my 65 Birthday. If all goes well we will have a smashing time at this Easter Eggstavaganzer’
