Sight Support Derbyshire’s trained staff and volunteers work in partnership with Derbyshire County Council to provide support in your own home. We can visit you personally to provide information and help you with tasks around your home to make your life easier.
How we can help
If you are not sure what support you need, we can visit your home and talk with you about your needs and how we may be able to help. We will discuss the different services Sight Support Derbyshire can provide, how they can support you at home and how you can access them.
We can also just call round to help you with one-off activities including:
- Fixing problems with existing equipment such as adjusting talking clocks and watches, and programming phones.
- Demonstrating and supplying new equipment.
- Answering any general queries you may have.
- Helping you to contact other agencies such as social services and welfare rights.
Who can use the service?
Anyone with a visual impairment who lives in the areas covered by Derbyshire County Social Services can use our Home Support Service.
You do not need to be registered as either sight impaired or severally sight impaired to access the service.
Our Home Support Service does not include providing personal care.
