Sight Support Derbyshire’s staff and volunteers are available at every eye clinic in the County where registration of sight loss takes place. We can provide information and practical advice to patients with a visual impairment, their carers and families.
Our clinics are located at Hospitals in the following locations: Royal Derby, Chesterfield Royal, Ilkeston and Ripley, Cavendish and Whitworth.
We can help with information on:
- The implications of registering as sight impaired or severely sight impaired
- Eye conditions
- How to maintain independence
- Aids and equipment
- Large print or talking books and newspapers
- BT free directory service
- Blue Badge Scheme for car parking concessions
- Information Programmes
- Social groups and activities
- Befriending Services
We can provide information on or signpost to our Home Support and Rehabilitation Services, as well as Social Services and other statutory agencies.
