Sponsored ‘walkies’ in aid of guide dogs

If the mention of “Walkies” makes your dog cavort around in unrestrained joy, take the opportunity to get involved in a sponsored dog walk to support Guide Dogs.

People and pets can enjoy the scenes of the beautiful Rother Valley Country Park over the 5km course on September 25, when the dogs, not the owners, are sponsored to take part.

Participation is free and there is no minimum fundraising target. All that is asked is that you and your pooch raise as much for Guide Dogs as you can.

This money will go towards a variety of things, from dog leads to dog kennels, helping Guide Dogs to continue providing an invaluable service to blind and partially-sighted people throughout the UK.

You don’t even need to own a dog to take part.
You could take a dog owned by a friend, neighbour or local rescue kennel – you could even dress up as a dog yourself!

Rother Valley Country Park is located on the borders of Yorkshire and Derbyshire, near the towns of Rotherham, Chesterfield and Worksop and the city of Sheffield.

See www.gowalkies.org.uk for more information and details on how to register for this event. Or contact Kerri Griffiths on gowalkies@guidedogs.org.uk or on 0845 600 6786.
