Relaunch of the Ilkeston group
The Ilkeston group have recently been awarded a grant from Erewash Borough Council to help with development.
The group has been running for over 10 years and was set up by Beryl Bernacchio and Pat Hicking. They originally used to meet at The Shop Mobility on East Street and with the help of the grant moved to the Cantelupe Centre on the market square.
The group meets every Tuesday 10-1pm for a chat and a drink, in the future the group want to have more trips out, have speakers and entertainers and do more fund raising.
Here is what one of the members said about the group “it’s a very nice group with nice people. Since I’ve been coming it is like a life line for me. We have a laugh and we can talk with out being judged. It gets me out”
