Resource Centres

Sight Support Derbyshire’s Resource Centres provide support, information and advice on a variety of topics relating to visual impairment and dual sensory conditions.  We have Resource Centres at our offices in Derby and Chesterfield and our Mobile Resource Centre regularly visits venues throughout the county.

Information on various eye conditions

Leaflets and information can be obtained on various eye conditions that detail the causes, symptoms and known treatments.

Demonstration of aids and equipment to assist with sight loss

We provide information and advice regarding products that will enhance your sight and make your life easier, with an opportunity to buy the various aids and equipment.

Signposting to different services and organizations that can offer help and support

In addition to Sight Support Derbyshire services, we provide information and contact details for statutory services; Community Care Workers, Welfare Rights, Library Services, Rehabilitation, Optometrists, Blind Veterans for ex forces personnel and may more.

Mobile 'Pop Up' Resource Centre

Sight Support Derbyshire's mobile 'pop up' resource centre travels to libraries, supermarkets, GP surgeries and other community spaces, offering advice on our services and specialist equipment. Look out for it in your area.

It is funded by the Postcode Community Trust, a grant giving charity funded entirely of players of People's Postcode Lottery.
